Bantam Draft Thread…

The 2011 WHL Bantam Draft is going on today from Calgary and I’ll be posting information on the Winterhawks selections as they happen.

The Hawks have moved up to select Zach Paterson from Edmonton…stats from Alan Caldwell:

#34 2nd Rd.: Portland (from Victoria for 3rd, 4th and 8th round picks in 2012):  Zach Paterson – 5’10 165, Defense, Edmonton, AB

Comments from The Pipeline Show draft preview: “Possibly the best skating defenceman in this year’s draft. Zach was a member of the provincial champion team that dominated throughout Alberta all year long. He should be able to run a WHL power play someday.”

Paterson comes from the same program as Troy Rutkowski.

No details yet on the deal to move up to #34…so stay tuned.
