Roster Updates…

The Portland Winterhawks are expected to have 1992 born Forward Teal Burns in the line-up when they return from the Christmas break on Sunday in Spokane.

Burns, 5’11 190, is playing currently for the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL after being acquired from his hometown Victoria Grizzlies earlier this season.  In 35 games, Burns has averaged a point per game, scoring 13-22-35 with 55 PIM’s.

He was the Hawks 8th round (#156 overall) selection in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft and when he appears in a game, he will be the eighth of ten selections that will have played in the WHL from that draft.   Others are Brad Ross, Joe Morrow, Keith Hamilton, Taylor Peters, Daniel Johnston, Ryan Johansen for Portland and Kyzen Loo for Prince George.

Burns will wear #9.

Peters and Joel Ridgeway have both been reassigned back to their respective teams in Penticton and Selkirk.

In other news, former Hawk Adam Deadmarsh is going to be honored on Saturday by the Colorado Avalanche Alumni Association.   Full details can be found here.

Deadmarsh has previously been honored by the Los Angeles Kings after having his career shortened by post-concussion syndrome.  He is now a Video Coach for the Avalanche.
