Tape Delay Saturday Night…

Due to the Washington State vs. Notre Dame football game, the broadcast of the Portland Winterhawks vs. Spokane Chiefs game will be delayed on Freedom AM 970 KCMD on Saturday night.

The broadcast should be started around 9:00 PM and it will include the full pre-game and game audio as well as a post-game show.   Todd Vrooman is making his way to Spokane as well to help out on the broadcast tomorrow night.

Want an omen?  We were tape delayed once last year and the Hawks won in Seattle 9-1.   This should be the only time this season that we will be tape delayed.

  1. Some of the Hawks draft picks are tearing it up at the U16 Challenge Cup. Derrick Pouliot and Brendan Leipsic have been named players of the game and Leipsic is tied for the lead in scoring after two days.

  2. The tape delay reverse-curse is alive and well! Interesting game tonight. There seem to be a lot of “stolen” victories of late for the Hawks. Not a bad thing to be picking up two points at a time when there are obviously still some kinks to work out. It was nice to see a little more defensive resolve late in the game tonight. The first 30 minutes were a free-for-all for the home team.

Should be an interesting game tomorrow night. Two relatively even matched teams and a season rivalry is gaining a lot of momentum, as happens wherever Mr. Beach washes ashore.
