Limited Streaming Audio This Weekend/Traverse City Update…

Todd Vrooman and I are going to be doing practice games this weekend in Tri City and we have found a free service to stream the audio over the Internet.  The catch is that it may be limited to just 50 listeners…we are trying to remove that stipulation, but we may not be able to.

So, if you want to listen, get in early at the following link:

First come, first served for the two games — Friday at 7:00 against the Tri City Americans and 2:00 on Saturday afternoon against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Not sure yet if we will be doing any intermission stuff…but there won’t be a pre-game show, so we’ll be on a few minutes before game time each day.  I will be doing my end of period recaps on this blog for those who can’t tune in.

Hope some of you can tune in to listen.

All in all, it looks like a good showing for the four Winterhawks that took part in the Traverse City NHL Prospect Tournament in Michigan this weekend.

Luke Walker led all of the New York Ranger prospects in scoring, posting 3-2-5 in 4 games with a +4 rating and 4 penalty minutes.  Walker scored three goals on eight shots…that would be a nice percentage all season, Mr. Walker.  Walker is a free agent invite and we’ll see if his performance was enough to get an invite to the main Ranger camp.

Travis Ehrhardt, a long shot to return to Portland after signing with Detroit, had 1-1-2 in 4 games with a +2 rating and 2 penalty minutes.  Ehrhardt’s goal was short-handed and his assist came on the power play.  He was credited with 5 shots in the tournament.

Brett Ponich, St. Louis’ 2nd rounder in 2009, had 0-1-1 in 4 games and a +2 rating with 5 penalty minutes.  Ponich was credited with 3 shots in the tournament.

Tayler Jordan, a free agent invite of the Columbus Blue Jackets, posted 0-1-1 in 3 games with a +1 rating and 5 penalty minutes while being credited with one shot on goal.

Ponich will most likeley head to St. Louis’ main camp and Ehrhardt to Detroit’s.  We’ll find out about Walker and Jordan soon.

Kurtis Mucha is scheduled to play half the game for the Edmonton Oilers tonight against the Vancouver Canucks prospects.

Spencer Bennett is also taking part at the NHL level with the Calgary Flames.

I wouldn’t expect any of the six players listed above to take part in the games this weekend in Kennewick.

That’s it for now…next update from Kennewick tomorrow evening…

  1. Could also use justin.tv if needed, get more listeners, and just have a hawks logo up as the cam image?

  2. Second justin.tv. ustream.tv would work too. I’ve listened to audio shows on each that do that.

Not sure how easy those are to set up on short notice however.

  3. Andy,

Try http://www.ustream.tv/ there’s a lot of stuff up with couple hundred viewers right now.

    Good luck!
