Ehrhardt Signs With Red Wings…

Well, not only is Travis Ehrhardt attending the Detroit Red Wings development camp, he has signed a three year entry level deal with the Wings.  That means that his playing days in Portland are most likely over as he can now move on to play in the Wings system in either Grand Rapids in the AHL or with Toledo in the ECHL.

Ehrhardt certainly made his mark with the Hawks in his stay, scoring 16-50-66 with 162 PIM in 122 games as a Winterhawk.  He served as Team Captain last year and showed the way for the young Hawks d-men.

He will be missed, but this is what this league is all about…giving players an opportunity to advance their careers, whether it be in hockey or not.   Ehrhardt will get a chance to work with some great people in the Wings franchise.

Congratulations Travis…hope to see you in Hockeytown very sooon!

  1. I’ll one-up you… apparently he signed a three-year deal as well… Good for him!

  2. That’s fantastic news! It’s always sad when players leave the Hawks, but he definitely deserves a shot at the big league.

  3. I’m happy for him, but am very sad to see him go! Would like to have had him here in PDX for another year! But, congratulations to Travis and best wishes!

  4. Good Luck Travis
