In Calgary…

CalgaryHome of the Stampede, the Flames, the Hitmen, Alan Caldwell and for the next couple of days, the Winterhawks prospect camp.

(Thanks to Tourism Calgary for the great photo.)

In between customer meetings, I’m going to catch some of the on-ice sessions tomorrow and Saturday before flying home on Saturday evening.

Don’t expect a blow-by-blow recap of every player that will be at the camp.  I’m going to focus on the players that are signed and committed to the franchise – Ty Rattie, Tyler Wotherspoon and Derrick Pouliot – while not putting any pressure that may come from something written in this blog on the others.

I’ve seen Rattie and Wotherspoon, but this will be my first look at Pouliot and I’m eager to see him on the ice.

I will post some general observations and maybe a photo or two from the camp, but, again, don’t expect anything too detailed.  We’ll all get to see the majority of the players here this weekend at the rookie and main camp coming up in August in Portland.

Right now, this is a chance for Mike Johnston and Travis Green to see the players (especially the ’93’s) for what may be the first or second time and to see just what options they have moving forward.

It’s warm here…but it feels a bit like hockey weather…even if it is just drills…

More tomorrow after Game 7…
