Scott Gabriel Now a Pat…

gabrielOverage defenseman Scott Gabriel was chosen off waivers today by the Regina Pats and he will join the Pats as they embark on a long road trip through British Columbia.

Gabriel appeared in 164 games as a Winter Hawk after being acquired from the Vancouver Giants with Max Gordichuk for Brenden Mikkelsen.  He accumulated 2-14-16 with 484 penalty minutes in his career in Portland.  His 484 penalty minutes ranks him 23rd all-time on the Hawks career list.

The move allows Gabriel to finish out his WHL career a bit closer to home, and a chance to play one more game in his hometown of Edmonton.

Best of luck to Scott in Regina.

  1. good luck to you Scott.

I know we have been complaining about the Winterhawks schedule, with the travel and the 3 days in 3 nights and 4 games in 3 nights.

I know we have inproved, but I think it is going to be difficult to reach the playoffs this year. Have you looked at the T-birds schedule? THey have played 20 road games already ,while only playing 5 homes games so far. Thats is unbelievable. I know they are moving into a new arena, but that is a lot larder than the hawks have had so far. Thats just my opinion

  2. Gabriel was a fan favorite for sure. After Saturday nights game, I met fans who have his signature tattoo’ed on their bodies.

His jersey t-shirts are on sale, btw.

  3. Im pretty sure Gabes will start putting up big numbers in Regina. I heard he´s going to see a lot of ice time on the peeps.

    Go Scottie!

  4. Hi Andy,

Just an update on Ryan Andersen. He came back home from Portland last Friday and off to North Battleford to play in SJHL there. The team has been on a losing streak, but his first game was matched up against the first place team in the SJ and they won the battle. Ryan received a first SJ point and added an assist in his next game a couple days later with another win. All is going good for him and thought you may want an update on him. The team is called North Battleford Stars.

Hope everything is going well for everyone there. Take care.
