A Couple Late Night Thoughts…

First off…congrats to the boys…they earned it tonight and it was a joy to watch.

Secondly…when asked on the bus as to who got the puck tonight – Keith Hamilton for his first WHL victory or Troy Rutkowski for his first WHL goal in OT – it was determined that the puck will be cut in half and each will get a half puck.  I don’t think either one has a problem with that.

Lastly…Colin Reddin is OK, he was under the weather in the third period and not able to go.  He should be OK to play in Regina on Friday night.

More tomorrow evening or Friday morning from Regina.

  1. Congratulations on a nice win.

  2. An absolute shocker last night. Good for team morale. Congratulations!

  3. Way to go Hawks! Your beating of one of the hottest teams in the WHL on their home ice shows the individual skills are there and the team skills may be starting to emerge.

Andy, at least you didn’t get too excited last night. Not! Ha, ha. Good job conveying the real emotion of the victory.

  4. Congrats to the boys!!! It sounded like they played very well and deserved the win. Andy, it was great how excited you got. Wins are that much more sweet when they come so few and far between!
Special congrats to Hamilton, Boychuk, and Rutkowski for their respective “firsts”!

  5. Hey Andy you owe me a pair of ear buds since you blew em out last night HAHAHAHA that was spectacular man Great Job, Great Job !!! GO HAWKS

  6. andy i loved your passion last night on the radio, i was right there with you when i jumped up off the couch here in new york as we scored the winner!

    GO HAWKS!

  7. Andy,

Not certain of you keep track of such things, since it is somewhat subjective, but do you have any idea of how many penalties Brad Ross has drawn (on his own) this year?

I know there were definitely 2 last night..but I have seen it so many times I am guessing that the count must be well into double figures (10-15?) already this year.

  8. GO HAWKS – GO!

  9. I HOPE THEY CAN BUILD ON THIS. IF THEY’RE COMPETITIVE AGAINST THE REGINA AND SWIFT CURRENT, I WOULD CALL IT A “GOOD” ROAD TRIP, KINDA LIKE WON THE BATTLE BUT LOST THE WAR. IF THE PAT AND BRONCO GAMES ARE 8-2 BLOWOUTS OR MORE SHUTOUTS, THE SASKATOON GAME WILL BE JUST A MINOR BLEEP ON THE SCREEN. I WOULD BE SURPRISED IF HAMILTON DOESN’T GET THE START AGAINST REGINA TO FOLLOW UP ON HIS GREAT PERFORMANCE IN SASKATOON!

IF MIKE WILLIAMSON WERE STILL COACH, HE WOULD SAY THE ONLY REASON WE WON WAS BECAUSE THEY HAD THEIR BACK-UP GOALIE IN THE GAME. NOT MUCH PRAISE FOR WINS AND A LOT OF REASONS FOR LOSSES.

IF KILLIAN HUTT KEEPS GETTING 3 POINTS A GAME, I CAN HEAR THE PORTLAND FANS ALREADY “HUTT 1, HUTT 2, HUTT 3!!!

  10. Way to go Rutkowski!! Portland has a up and coming Star in this 16 year old!! Go get em Hawks!
