Tuesday Updates…

First, both Kurtis Mucha (Phoenix) and Travis Ehrhardt (Detroit) have been returned by the NHL clubs to Portland and both should be ready to go on Friday night in Everett.

Upon further review, it was Joe Morrow, not Brett Ponich, that chipped the puck up the boards to spring the 3-on-1 rush that led to the Hawks game winner on Sunday evening.  The assist has been changed and congratulations, belatedly, to Joe for his first career WHL point.

Everett is waiting on word for two players in NHL camp – Kyle Beach in Chicago and Taylor Ellington in Vancouver – but I wouldn’t expect either back this weekend.  It sounds like Vancouver is keeping players around until at least next week and I’d expect Beach to start the season in Chicago.

Portland’s opponent on Saturday, the Vancouver Giants, also have two players still in pro camp – Jonathan Blum in Nashville and Tyson Sexsmith in San Jose.  I don’t expect either of those back by Saturday either.

Rookie Jamie Tucker shut-out the Silvertips for the Giants on Saturday night in Everett in place of Sexsmith.

For those wondering about podcasts of games this season…we are working on it with KKAD.  I hope to have something to report on that soon.

Thats it for now…
