Ehrhardt As A Wing…

Not much time to post today, but thought I’d share a photo of Travis Ehrhardt taking part in the Traverse City Tournament as a free agent for the Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings.

The Wings defeated the New York Ranger prospects by a score of 4-0 yesterday, with Ehrhardt being a +1 with 2 PIM’s.

You can follow the tournament at and also the NHL Network is showing some games as well on Cable and Satellite TV.

I wasn’t able to go to Kent last night to watch the final preseason game so I can’t offer up any thoughts on it.  Obviously Friday night was fun to watch and it was a great home debut for Killian Hutt to post five points.  The last player that I can remember to post five points in his debut at the MC was Dennis Holland…but that was in a regular season game.

With the acquisition of Stefan Schneider and the pending return of Ryan Kerr and Lee Morrow, it should make the roster decisions interesting in the coming weeks for the Hawks.  Certainly, the young d-men (Rutkowski, J. Morrow, Watt) have all showed that they can play at this level.

I have heard rumblings that there may be some number changes from preseason to the regular season, I’ll narrow that down with Innes this week and let you know of the changes once I have them.

More later this week…
