Tri City Roster Update…

The Winter Hawks will take pretty much the same roster to Tri City this weekend as they did last weekend in Everett.  The only changes are that Ty Rattie won’t be there as a 15 and 19 year old Mandeep Nijjar has been released.  The Hawks will add 19 year old Radim Valchar to the lineup for this weekend.  15 year old Tyler Wotherspoon is expected to take part this weekend.

Right now, the roster sits at:

Goaltenders:  Keith Hamilton, Kurtis Mucha, Jordan White

Defense:  Travis Bobbee, Brock Cornish, Travis Ehrhardt, Scott Gabriel, Ryan Kerr, Joe Morrow, Lee Morrow, Brett Ponich, Troy Rutkowski, David Watt, Tyler Wotherspoon

Forwards:  Ryan Andersen, Riley Boychuk, Teal Burns, Nick Dietrich, Chris Francis, Oliver Gabriel, Jason Grecica, Killian Hutt, Kyzen Loo, Bryon Maxwell, Taylor Peters, Colin Reddin, Brad Ross, Matt Schmermund, Radim Valchar, Luke Walker

Grecica won’t play for sure due to injury, but I’m not sure about Kerr, L. Morrow, Francis or Watt.

I wll post updates from Tri City tomorrow afternoon.

A couple ex-Hawks trying to make other WHL rosters were let go this week – Matt Betker and Chip Petrino in Seattle as well as Phil Gervais in Edmonton.

Travis Ehrhardt will leave on September 10th for Detroit’s rookie camp and to take part in the Traverse City tournament with the Red Wings.

Kurtis Mucha will leave on September 12th for Phoenix’s rookie camp and to play in two preseason games against the LA Kings.

One of Ehrhardt’s teammates in Traverse City will be Cameron Cepek, who wasn’t signed by Montreal after being drafted by the Canadiens a couple seasons ago.  Cepek is also battling to be one of the overagers for the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Next update will be from Kennewick tomorrow afternoon…

  1. What is the Status of Tyler Swystun?

Could he be traded if he won’t return?

With 3 Goalies will we see a trade in this area?

  2. Right now, Swystun isn’t on the Hawks roster, although his rights still belong to Portland. If someone wanted to trade for his rights, they could…

I think the Hawks will start the year with 3 goalies and then make a decision when the overage deadline gets closer (Oct. 16).
