YOU’RE RIGHT ABOUT FEWER COTTON-EYE JOES. AND I ALSO AGREE ABOUT THE “NEW” STUFF THE MUSIC GUY IS PLAYING THESE DAYS, AND MY COMPLIMENTS TO HIM FOR THAT. THERE IS ENOUGH GOOD 60′S, 70′S, AND 80′S MUSIC OUT THERE TO ENTERTAIN THE DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS THAT ATTEND THE GAMES. GIVE ME VARIETY AND NO MORE “FREEZE FRAME”.

As a former Hawk, 1983-84, and someone who has considered “Inch” a friend for 25 years, I was saddened to read that he will no longer be with the Hawks. He was always a steadying force in the locker room and on the road. Andy, please send Innes my regards.

You can’t really fault the music guys for Cotton-Eye Joe being played. It was kind of Tom-A-Hawk’s anthem for a few years. But honestly, I don’t think it’s been played this season but maybe once, if that. I haven’t heard it. The new guy has been playing a lot of different things and I’ve heard compliments on it. No more “Thank God I’m A Country Boy”!!

Andy, just re-read your “who-own-da-chiefs post” again (the similarites for anyone who knows what im talking about are pretty priceless) but saw no mention of tommorrow’s press conference?

If it seems I’m being hyper critical of the Hawks please forgive (doesnt somone need to hold the organization to the fire) but wouldnt it be a good thing to at least announce the Hawks press conference on the Hawks on web site as a way of generating at least some interest on the part of the Hawks long-suffering fans.

You know that way, perhaps a fan or two might tune into a local sportcast that otherwise wouldnt – not that the Hawks will actually get any coverage, but since the rumor has Vulcan a part of the “proceedings” perhaps a few of the local stations/rags will pay some attent in which case again, shouldnt u guys be pushing it on your web page?

THANKS FOR CORRECTING ME ON THE # OF PEOPLE. THE MUSIC IS STILL THE SAME THOUGH. IT’S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE “CENTERFOLD” WILL POP UP, FOLLOWED BY “TRICKY TRICKY” OR WHATEVER THE H*** IT’S CALLED. IN FAIRNESS TO ME, THE MUSIC ISN’T THE REASON WHY I GO TO THE GAMES. OH, I FORGOT ABOUT “COTTON-EYE JOE”. ENOUGH ABOUT THE BORING MUSIC. LET’S GET BACK TO HAWKEY!!!! I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE NEW COACHING STAFF AND SEE WHAT THEY’LL DO DIFFERENTLY WITH THIS YOUNG TEAM. I HOPE THE PLAYERS AREN’T SHAKING IN THEIR SKATES BECAUSE THE GUY ON THE BENCH IS ALSO THE GENERAL MANAGER, NOT JUST THE COACH.

I do not understand the bashing of Gustafson by Dirt. Kyle has stepped in this year to run the billet stuff as well as the education of the players. How can you fault a coach who has taken on these extra responsibilities to help the organization? The players respect him, he is a local guy, and works tirelessly on the video side of things. Johnson and Green are the main coaches and Kyle will do what is asked of him. Keeping Kyle cannot be a negative in any way.
I am looking forward to an owner who is willing to INVEST in the organization. There is nowhere to go but up with this sale even if the wins do not materialize right away.

I SEE THIS MOVE AS ONE WITH THE POSITIVES GROSSLY OUTWEIGHING THE NEGATIVES.

I, TOO, DON’T UNDERSTAND THE GUSTAFSON RETENTION. IT MIGHT BE A CASE OF NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, BUT WHO YOU KNOW. THE SAME MIGHT APPLY TO INNES. MOST OF US KNEW THAT KROMM HAD TO GO. AND THE FACT THAT THEY FINALLY GOT A COACH “APPARENTLY” WITH GOOD CREDENTIALS AND NOT AN UNEMPLOYED FORMER WINTERHAWK SHOWS ME A COMMITMENT TO TURNING THIS THING AROUND. I AM VERY PLEASED THAT KEN HODGE WAS KEPT ON WITH THE ORGANIZATION!!!!

LET’S REPLACE THE GUY WHO’S BEEN PLAYING THE SAME MUSIC AT THE GAMES FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS TOO. SORRY BIG GUY!!!! CENTERFOLD?

I WILL BE CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT DIRECTION THE SCOUTING GOES TOO.

I cannot imagine this team falling and further than it has. As a long time fan watching from the outside, I am sickened and saddened by what has happened to a once proud franchise over the past few years.

I can only hope this is the first rung of the ladder back to respectability…regardless of who stays and who goes. Something is terribly wrong with the team and a thorough house cleaning is definitely in order.

Let’s just hope the weight on the unknown has been lifted from the kids shoulders and they can just go out and play hockey…and have fun winning again.
